The Casa Grande Area and Directions

Casa Grande is conveniently located halfway between Phoenix and Tucson, at the intersection of Interstates 8 and 10, which allows easy access to many of Arizona's natural wonders and outdoor activities. Bordered by Ironwood Forest National Monument and  the Sonoran Desert National Monument to the south and west, Saguaro National Park and Picacho Peak State Park to the south and the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument to the east, Shadowcatcher is an ideal homebase for a variety of day trips and intersts. Biking, Hiking, Golfing, Skydiving, Shopping, Casinos, and Birding just to name a few.

Area Events and Activities

Casa Grande's seasonal events packed with festivals and activities including the Annual Fiddlers' Bluegrass Jamboree, Heritage Tourism Days, Wuertz Farm Family Gourd Festival, O'Odham Tash Festival, Arizona State Open Chili Championship, Copperstate and  Cactus Fly-In, and Civil War re-enactment to name a few. The annual O'Odham Tash Celebration, a gathering of tribes, is in mid-February and celebrates Native American arts and crafts, ceremonial dances, rodeos, powwows and parades.

The newest addition to Casa Grande is The Promenade at Casa Grande, a large mall offering the amenities and convenience of a regional lifestyle center. This signature open-air center includes many department stores such as Dillard's, JC Penny, Kohl's, Target, Marshall's and a Harkins multiplex theater.

Skydive Arizona

Located nearby in Eloy, AZ, Skydive Arizona is one of the worlds largest skydiving centers. It now boasts an indoor wind tunnel-for the experience of skydiving without jumping out of a plane, and is open year-round.

Central Arizona College (Signal Peak Campus)

Central Arizona College is a dynamic and multifaceted institution of higher education featuring nine campuses and centers strategically located throughout Pinal County for the purpose of educating the diverse population of the region. The Signal Peak Campus, home of the Vaqueros is a close three miles from Shadowcatcher Bed and Breakfast.

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is one of the largest prehistoric structures ever built in North America. Today, its purpose remains as much a mystery as the people who built it. Archeologists have discovered evidence of wide-scale irrigation farming and trade which lasted over a thousand years and ended about 1450. Today the ancient ones are remembered as the "Hohokam," an O'odham word meaning "Those Who Are Gone."

We are also conveniently located near the Sonoran Desert National Monument, with more than 487,000 acres of Sonoran Desert landscape, diverse ecosystems, historic sites and trails.

FROM THE  NORTH - Take I-10 to Exit 185. Take SR 387 SOUTH to Val Vista (first street light), Turn Left. Go 4 miles to Cox Rd. Turn left, 9788 N. Cox Rd.  Shadowcatcher is on left side of street.

FROM THE SOUTH - Take exit 190 at McCartney Rd. Travel 1/2 mile east to Cox Rd.  Turn left at Cox Rd., travel 2 miles to 9788 N. Cox Rd.  Shadowcatcher will be on the left side of the road at the sign.
